This is a set of ESRI shapefiles, one for each Montana county, showing 2000 Census Blocks and their total population, population age 18 and over, housing units, occupied housing units, vacant housing units, seasonal housing units, and average persons per household from the 2000 Census.

Process step:

The Montana Census and Economic Information Center (CEIC) converted the native TIGER/Line files into a number of separate ArcView shapefiles for each Montana county. CEIC used the TGR2SHP version 4.0 (GIS Tools, Knoxville, TN) to convert the files.

The Montana State Library, Natural Resource Information System, converted all the shapefiles to Arc/Info coverage format, projected them to Montana State Plane Coordinates with Arc/Info, joined the Census Block data to the population and housing counts, and converted the data back to shapefile format.
